B-Movie Isle Top Ten Blu-Ray 2016

The B-Movie Isle: Top Ten Blu-Ray Releases of 2016

The B-Movie Isle/Adam reviews the best catalog Blu-Ray Releases of 2016!

Talk about a banner year for Blu-Ray Releases!  Physical media may be dying but it’s not going without a fight.  As they sung in Young Guns II, they’re going dooooooooooooooooooown in a blaze of Glory!!!!  Random aside… why hasn’t one of the many boutique labels released Young Guns and Young Guns II on Blu-Ray in a deluxe edition?  Back on point… it’s been a great banner year for catalog titles being released.  It feels like the studios have loosened up and decided to license a bunch of great titles to the smaller labels to great success.

The biggest winners are not the company but we the fans.  2016 saw Criterion release of not just one Coen Bros. film but two (Blood Simple and Inside Llywen Davis).  2016 saw Scream Factory release two great Horror Comedies films (Bubba Ho-Tep and Child’s Play).  2016 saw the release on Blu-Ray of Hobgoblins from Vinegar Syndrome.  Let me repeat that one, Hobgoblins was released on Blu-Ray.  Arrow Video finally came to the US and released a slew of great titles like Female Prison Scorpion Box Set and The Hills Have Eyes! Even greater is that these releases didn’t even make my top ten.  That’s the kind of year it’s been.

Any time I’ve written them up I will link to the article.  There will also be links to purchase the discs. So, without further ado I present my list for your viewing pleasure.
